Best coffee shops in Tauranga for getting work done

Freelancers have been around forever. And, before the brilliant concept of shared office spaces became a popular notion, cafes were the ultimate retreat for freelancers who needed to escape the secluded and distracting spaces of their homes.
Sometimes, though, there are days when even the productivity potential of a shared office space doesn’t come close to the aromas and creative vibe of a coffee shop.
Not just any coffee shop will do, though. To actually be productive while still getting your caffeine or lunch fix, you need solid wifi, a bathroom and good (affordable) menu options.
Behold, some of our favourite coffee shops for Tauranga freelancers:
Elizabeth Cafe & Larder, Tauranga CBD
Elizabeth Cafe & Larder immediately inspires a feeling of creativity once you get in the door, with a great layout, friendly staff and the coolest cafe theme we’ve seen in quite a while.
The coffee isn’t bad either and the food is gorgeously classic with a twist – whether you want something small or big, they will have something to suit your fancy. Speaking about fancy, don’t let the name fool you. Despite the great interior styling and all-round classy vibes, you will find the staff to be down to earth and the ambiance welcoming.
Long live the queen!
Me & You, Tauranga CBD
Tauranga has no shortage of hip spaces with menus to match. Me & You is just that and more. The menu is out of this world and the food is very fresh, as is the coffee and the space. The staff could do with a little pick-me-up, but if you’re working then you won’t mind them too much.
The spot has great seating options, unlike many other coffee shops in the city, self-help water on tap.

Mount Social Club, Mount Maunganui
Mount Social Club reminds me of a hippie who has a big corporate job. It might look bohemian and artsy at first, but it works hard and knows where to focus its attention.
Technically, Mount Social Club is a tapas bar and restaurant, but it opens early and is quiet in the morning, serving as the perfect place to pop in and get some work done in a really creative and warm space.
Robert Harris, Tauranga CBD
The main reason Robert Harris in the CBD is on our list, is beacuse of their service and operating hours. They are one of very few cafes open from 7am and their staff is really great.
Their coffee is good, which is also a plus, and they have nice snacks that will get you through the morning.
Perhaps the only negative would be their lack of Wi-Fi, besides the public connection in the city, which is not a real reliable source. Other than that, a definite try, even if just to chill on their couches and enjoy a good coffee!
